Another player commits to Scholars

Another player commits to Scholars

Paul Mullins12 Dec 2013 - 16:29

Ryan Price has turned down a move to another local club, committing himself to Chasetown FC.

Ryan was given permission to talk to another club this week but manager Craig Harris confirmed that Ryan has agreed to stay with Chasetown.

Price, who has played 266 games for the Scholars since 2008-09 is just 3 games away from 200 league games for the club.

Harris said, "Ryan is one of the most sought after goalkeepers in non-league football. His reputation and record for several clubs speaks for itself.

"So, we understand that clubs will want him as part of their squad.

"But, for Ryan to stay with us is a massive boost for us, with Joe Halsall and Chris Slater two other players for whom approaches have been made this season and both have stayed.

"This is a great club to be at, and it is testimony to the type of character of player we have in the squad and all to the other people that make this club work that players come here and want to stay."

Price has kept 74 clean sheets in his time with the Scholars, an average of 1 in every 3.5 games.
