Chairman, Steve Jones, also receives the Prestigious Presidents Award

Last night, Chasetown Football Club proudly attended the Royal Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase #SLTCAwards26 hosted by Gail Emms MBE.

The event, hosted at Statfold Country Park, was a fantastic celebration of local businesses and community organisations. We were incredibly proud to be shortlisted for two awards: Cannock Chase Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year and the SLTC Community Builder Award.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Chasetown FC was crowned Cannock Chase Business of the Year — a tremendous honour and a testament to the hard work, dedication and community spirit that runs throughout our club.

The Business of the Year award was proudly collected on the night by Michael Joiner, President and Founder of Chasetown FC, alongside General Manager Peter Bailey. The award recognises the club’s significant growth and the positive impact it continues to have across the local community. The panel acknowledged not only the expansion and development of the club on the pitch, but also the inclusive opportunities it provides for people of all ages and backgrounds to access football.

Beyond matchdays, the club’s community projects and the continued growth of its business network were seen as pivotal factors in the decision, demonstrating that Chasetown FC plays a vital role both as a sporting institution and as a driver of community engagement and local economic collaboration.

Adding to an already memorable evening, our Chairman, Steve Jones, was presented with the the prestigious Presidents Award by Chamber President David Mitchell. Unfortunately, Steve was unable to attend the ceremony, so Peter Bailey accepted the award on his behalf.

This special recognition reflects the incredible impact Steve has made through Chasetown FC within the local community. His unwavering positivity and vision for the future of the club were acknowledged, along with his total commitment to creating and delivering the very best opportunities for the people of Burntwood and beyond — whether through Chasetown FC or his company, Crown Highways Limited.

It was a proud night for everyone connected with the club, and we thank the Chamber for recognising the work being done both on and off the pitch.
