Chasetown FC can confirm that Jamie Hawkins has stood down from his position as First Team Manager, and his resignation has been accepted by the Board with immediate effect.
Jamie departs the club following nine years of dedicated service, during which he has made a significant contribution across a number of roles. Beginning as a player and Assistant Manager with the reserve team, he went on to serve for six years as Assistant Manager before stepping into the role of First Team Manager over the past five months.
The Board would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Jamie for his unwavering commitment, professionalism and hard work throughout his time at the club. In particular, his willingness to step into the managerial role during a challenging period following the departure of Mark Swann is greatly appreciated.
Jamie has been, and remains, a highly respected figure within the football club. His values, dedication and connection to Chasetown FC have been evident throughout his tenure, and he leaves with the utmost respect of the Chairman, Board, players and supporters.
While the club has taken the decision to move in a new direction in order to rejuvenate the Men’s First Team, this does not detract from the significant impact Jamie has made over a sustained period.
Jamie has asked to share the following message with supporters:
“I would like to thank everyone connected with the club for their support over the past nine years. It has been a privilege to serve in several roles, from player and Assistant Manager with the reserves, to six years as Assistant Manager, and most recently as First Team Manager.
There are too many people to thank individually, but I will do so personally in due course.
To the players and staff, I wish you all the very best for the remainder of the season and hope you can finish strongly, starting with the Walsall Senior Cup Final.
I will look back on my time here with great pride and will continue to support the club going forward. Thank you for the memories.”
Jamie will always be welcome at Chasetown FC, and the club is confident that supporters, players and the wider football community will join in recognising his contribution and wishing him every success for the future.
