Chasetown FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Ronan Gilbert as our new Reserve Team Manager ahead of the upcoming season.
The appointment follows an outstanding campaign for the reserves, who secured both the West Midlands Regional League Division One title and Division One Cup last season — continuing the strong progression throughout the club’s development pathway.
Ronan arrives at The Scholars with an impressive coaching and management background, having previously worked with Sutton Coldfield Town, Bedworth United, Romulus and Lutterworth Town, alongside spending five years working within the Aston Villa Foundation. He also holds a coaching and management degree obtained through the Etihad Campus programme.
Joining Ronan in the dugout will be Ethan Richardson as Assistant Manager, bringing valuable experience from his playing career across the non-league pyramid, including spells with Nuneaton Borough, Long Buckby and Chelmsley Town.
Speaking after his appointment, Ronan said:
“I’m over the moon to be joining such a progressive football club with a talented and successful group of players already in place. I’m excited to get started, meet the lads and continue building on the excellent foundations here at Chasetown FC.”
Assistant Manager Ethan Richardson added:
“I’m really looking forward to this new challenge alongside Ronan at such a well-established club. I’m excited to bring my experience into coaching and help the players continue improving every week.”
The appointment further underlines Chasetown FC’s commitment to youth development and creating a clear pathway into senior football.
During the 2025/26 season, nine players from the club’s Youth Development Programme featured for the first team, with several firmly establishing themselves within the senior squad — highlighting the exciting future being built at the club.
Matt Witts, Head of Youth Development, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Ronan and Ethan to the football club. Both are highly driven, ambitious and passionate about player development, and we believe they are an excellent fit for the culture and direction of the club.
There is real momentum around the development pathway at Chasetown FC, and this appointment reflects our continued commitment to creating an environment where young players can thrive and progress.”
Chasetown FC would also like to place on record our sincere thanks to outgoing management team Craig Littler and Oli Hutchins for all of their hard work, dedication and commitment during their time at the club.
Everyone at the club wishes Craig and Oli all the very best for the future and thanks them for the important contribution they made to the continued success of the reserve team.
Welcome to The Scholars, Ronan and Ethan
