The first stage of the Wall of Support is in place

Paul Mullins21 Apr 2019 - 10:23

Scholars fans got to see for the first time the wall of support at yesterday's game with Prescot Cables.

The first 24 granite tiles are in place on the outside of the turnstile hut.

Pictured, Chief Executive Mick Joiner with the granite tile dedicated to his father Jim Joiner, an integral part of the club's early success as a supporter, fundraiser and committee member.

Other tiles in place in the first frame are former player and manager Charlie Blakemore, full back Andy Cox (second highest appearances with 535) and our club sponsors of 8 years Crown Highways.

The tiles cost £50 and the monies raised are ring fenced for ground improvements, the main target to improve the 30 year old floodlights.

The tiles are made of granite and more details are available from Trevor Youngman, email address tfortrevor19@aol.co.uk

We encourage anyone who has has any connection with Chasetown FC since our birthday 65 years ago to get involved.

Tiles are limited to three rows of up to 16 characters.
