The Scholars record appearance holder (587 games) joined the Scholars in 2003 and reached 210 games for Chasetown before departing for Port Vale after our successful FA Cup run during the 2007-08 season.

Returning for the 2008-09 season, Slater overtook Andy Cox's appearance record during the 2015-16 season and had reached 580 by the close of 2016-17.

Chris rejoined the Scholars at the start of the curtailed 2020-21 season adding a further 7 appearances and is now just 13 short of 600 for the club.

Assistant Manager Jamie Hawkins said, "We are delighted to add Chris to our management team. He brings a wealth of experience, while his passion for Chasetown FC will be another benefit to the squad.
