Worcester City replay preview

Ryan Robinson1 Sep - 18:45

media team member Ryan Robinson looks ahead to the continuation of our road to Wembley as we host Worcester City in the FA Cup replay.

Saturday saw us get a 1-1 draw versus tonight’s opponents via a Joey Butlin finish at The Sixways Stadium.

Meanwhile our hosts, Worcester City, from the league above, sit 14th after five games in the Southern Premier central division. On the opening day the Worcestershire side came up against fellow promoted team Quorn. This ended with a 1-0 91st minute winner for the visitors from Leicestershire. They then travelled to Banbury where a Logan Stoddart goal meant the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Two weeks ago Worcester travelled to Needham Market and lost 1-0 while last Saturday saw a last minute equaliser from Zac Guinan added to an early goal from Musa Ceesay meaning that Worcester played out a 2-2 draw with Bury Town. Last Monday they inflicted a first defeat of the season onto Halesowen Town with a 3-0 win that had goals from Felix Miles (X2) and Dan Sweeney. This win was Worcester’s first of the season at the fifth attempt.

Worcester last visited The Scholars ground in 2017 when we defeated them in a FA Cup replay 2-0 via goals from Will Whieldon and Muzzy Nduna. The original tie finished 1-1 after red cards for Worcester’s Brad Birch and the Scholars Jimmy O’Neil. The goals came from Aaron Brett for the hosts and Whieldon for the Scholars.

Tickets for Tuesday are £10 adults, £8 concessions, £5 u18’s and u10’s free with a paying adult while kick-off is 7:45pm at The Scholars ground, Church Street, Chasetown, WS7 3QL.
