The Scholars started well and returnee Richard Davies was first to test the tome side with a low shot which Quorn keeper Laurie Pearson pushed behind for a corner.
Nick Wellecomme, with two goals in two pre-season starts, then went close with a shot narrowly wide of the upright.
The visitors eventually took a deserved lead in the 21st minute when John Bateman’s kick was flicked on by Wellecomme and Nathan Waite took the ball on, rounded Pearson and fired into an empty net.
Bateman saved well from a Quorn free-kick as the Leicestershire side sought an immediate reply before Davies fed Wellecomme again who forced a great save out of the keeper with Waite unable to convert the rebound from a tight angle.
Quorn levelled three minutes into the second half when a short corner was drilled into the bottom corner by Louis Dodd.
The equaliser spurred on the home side and they deservedly took the lead when substitute Liam Read drilled low beyond Bateman into the bottom right hand corner.
