Chasetown 2 Sutton Coldfield Town 3

The Royals took the lead after 6 minutes with an effort from David Haworth.

Chasetown almost levelled with a looping header from Jake Lovatt which struck the base of the post.

The Scholars equalised with a clever free kick. Sutton keeper Sam Arnold handled a back pass and Jake Lovatt passed immediately to Muzzy Nduna who tapped into an empty net.

Sutton regained the lead before the half hour as Haworth headed home a right wing free kick.

Just before the break, Chasetown keeper Dale Reaney conceded a penalty and Haworth completed his hat trick from the spot.

In the 62nd minute Chasetown got one back. Will Whieldon was fouled on the edge of the area and skipper Jimmy O’Neill launched a fierce free-kick beyond Arnold.

The hosts best chance to share the spoils came when a Clayton Johnson cross saw a Jake Lovatt effort blocked and Frankie Baigent headed over the bar from 6 yards.

In the final minute, sub keeper Josh Allen got his fingers to an effort from Aron Birch that rattled the Chasetown crossbar.

Chasetown: Reaney (Allen, 78 mins), Degville (Kiembi, 54 mins), C Lovatt, Flattley (Devlin, 61 mins), O'Neill, Sedgley (Ryan, 78 mins), Mzungwana (Johnson, 68 mins), Hayward (Baigent, HT), J Lovatt, Whieldon, Nduna.
