The first half began with an early effort from Bradley just outside the box, setting the tone for a lively opening. Cater linked up with Dunne for a dangerous cross, but Chimenes couldn’t quite reach it. The breakthrough came when Cater scrambled in the box and managed to find Bradley, who got ahead of his defender and fired home with precision. Cater later attempted a curling shot that went just wide, and a cross from Bradley to Cater narrowly missed connecting.
In the second half, Langston tried to extend the lead with a driven shot that missed the target. Anstey Nomads were awarded a penalty, but Pond made a brilliant low save, diving the right way to maintain his clean sheet. Later on, Lund couldn’t get to convert a cross in time and although Langston set up Thompson with a well-placed header, the chance went unfinished, capping a half full of missed chances for both sides.
