Chasetown came from behind to secure an impressive 3-1 victory over Stourbridge at The Scholars Ground, producing a dominant display after an early setback.

Stourbridge started brightly and put Chasetown under sustained pressure in the opening stages, forcing Chasetown defence to stand firm.

Stourbridge persistence paid off in the 12th minute when Chasetown goalkeeper Pond made an excellent initial save, only for the Stourbridge attacking player to react quickest to the rebound and square the ball to his Stourbridge team mate who slots it home to make it 1-0.

Rather than let their heads drop, Chasetown responded with purpose. Their high pressing and direct running began to trouble the Stourbridge back line, and the equaliser arrived in the 21st minute.

After a determined run by chasetown into the stourbridge penalty area, the ball was forced over the line by Kyle after a spell of determined attacking play making it all squared at 1-1.

Chasetown continued to dominate possession and territory, creating promising openings before completing the turnaround eight minutes before the break.

Sustained chasetown pressure won a corner, and from the resulting attack Kyle met the delivery from the right with a clinical finish to claim his second goal of the afternoon and hand Chasetown a deserved 2-1 lead at half-time.

Chasetown carried that momentum into the second half, immediately threatening through Tak, whose powerful effort was well saved by the Stourbridge goalkeeper.

Chasetown continued to dictate the tempo, earning dangerous free-kicks and moving the ball confidently as they searched for a third goal.

Although Stourbridge at times in the second half also enjoyed spells of pressure around the hour mark and again midway through the second half, creating chances from wide areas, but Pond dealt comfortably with the efforts that found the target while the Chasetown defence stood strong also.

With stourbridge pushing forward in the closing stages, Chasetown remained dangerous on the counter and almost extended their lead when Moseley was denied by an offside flag after being played through.

The result was put beyond doubt in the 86th minute with an excellent team move.

Patient build-up play down the left ended with a pinpoint cross into the box, where Tak kept his composure to slot home and seal a deserved 3-1 victory.

After weathering an early storm, Chasetown controlled much of the contest, with Kyle's brace and Tak's late strike completing an impressive comeback and ensuring a win at The Scholars Ground.
