The match got off to an exciting start as Chasetown attacked from the first whistle at The Scholars Ground in today’s FA Trophy encounter against AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Chasetown started strong in the 7th minute using both flanks well to build up an impressive attacking display.

Early pressure saw Logan Cousins unleash a great shot from just outside the AFC Rushden & Diamonds box in the 8th minute, though it went narrowly over the AFC Rushden & Diamonds crossbar.

The opening goal came in the 15th minute when Lachlan Suffell won a free kick on the right flank; the resulting set-piece was crossed into the box and headed home by Suffell to put Chasetown 1-0 ahead.

Chasetown created another key opening in the 20th minute when a lovely cross over the top from Jordan Evans was latched on to by Matt Hearsey, who drove into the box and squared it for Lachlan Suffell, though Suffell just narrowly missed making contact.

Chasetown continued to push for a second goal in the 32nd minute as Jordan Evans delivered a lovely cross from out wide, but Logan Cousins sent his strike just over the crossbar.

The lead was doubled in the 36th minute through a fine team move: Logan Cousins picked out Matt Hearsey on the opposite flank, and Hearsey's precise cross into the box was headed home by Matt Funge.

Just two minutes later in the 38th minute, Lachlan Suffell made a darting run down the right flank and unleashed a powerful low drive into the far left corner of the net, sending Chasetown into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.

The second half got underway with AFC Rushden & Diamonds testing Curtis Pond in the 49th minute, but the Chasetown goalkeeper made a comfortable save.

Rushden & Diamonds earned a free kick on the halfway line in the 56th minute, but the delivery into the box was snatched out of the air by Curtis Pond.

Chasetown almost extended their advantage in the 63rd minute when Matt Hearsey beat his defender and delivered a cross for Lachlan Suffell, whose header required a fingertip save from the Rushden & Diamonds keeper to push it wide.

Chasetown made a double substitution in the 66th minute, bringing on Kyle Moseley and Tak Sambizi for Lachlan Suffell and Matt Funge.

They made further changes in the 67th and 75th minutes, introducing Mo Kourouma for Jensen Tortoishell and Carl Dickinson for Jordan Evans.

Chasetown continued searching for more goals, though the visitors' defence held firm until AFC Rushden & Diamonds managed to pull a goal back in the 82nd minute to make it 3-1.

Chasetown managed the remaining minutes effectively to secure a 3-1 victory at Full Time.
