The Roms took a twelfth minute lead when Chasetown had the ball passed around them and Luke Keen made no mistake from close range.
A thunderbolt from Lee Downes was brilliantly saved by visiting keeper Max Fondop, who later made a double save to deny a Lee Butler free-kick and the rebound from Nick Wellecomme.
Nathan Waite’s early second half strike deflected into the grateful arms of Fondop before Davies tested the visiting keeper with an effort from range which he did well to save.
But, it was the visitors who were deserving winners and two strikes from Courtney Baker-Richardson in the 70th and 78th minute gave the visitors clear daylight.
Wellecomme forced Fondop into palming the ball away from a close range effort, but the big Roms number one was equal to anything Chasetown’s front-line did throw at him.
The Scholars had a strong penalty appeal turned down at 2-0 when Nathan Waite was barged unceremoniously off the ball but the visitors made it 4-0 in the final minute when the Roms hit the crossbar, John Bateman then made a great save but Scott Meer followed up to net at the third attempt.
Substitute Jack Lees forced a late save from Fondop but it was a night Chasetown would want to forget quickly.
