Goole 2 Chasetown 1
The Yorkshire side took all three points with goals either side of the half time interval.
A minute before the break, a Chasetown counter attack broke down after a misplaced pass. The home side regained possession and the ball fell kindly to Billy Law who placed his right foot shot low beyond John Bateman.
Within sixty seconds of the restart, Goole had taken the lead. The Vikings broke quickly and had a man spare in their attack, but Andy Gascoigne took responsibility and fired beyond Bateman from just outside the penalty area.
It was the visitors who had drawn first blood in this mid-table encounter early in the first half when an unmarked Richard Davies side footed home from twelve yards.
Chasetown's Leon Miles had a header saved by home keeper Peter Fotko but it was the home side who looked increasingly likely to extend their lead.
In stoppage time, however, substitute Nathan Waite had a golden opportunity to level the scores for Chasetown, but he was unable to get his shot away and the chance went begging.
