The home side had the better of the first half possession and chances with Scott Ruthven and Andrew Hutchinson both testing visiting keeper John Bateman.
Just before the interval Ruthven was denied by a last ditch tackle from Chase skipper Chris Slater as the home side ended the half on top.
Chasetown tried their luck with long range efforts from Richard Davies and Nick Turton in the first half but largely untroubled keeper Robert Peet.
After the break it was a different story though and it was the Scholars who had the upper hand and Nick Turton was twice denied by strong saves from Peet, both diving at full stretch to stop Turton adding to his impressive start of 4 goals in 3 starts.
On the whole though, clear cut goal scoring chances were few and far between with defences largely on top and the goalless scoreline a fair reflection of the proceedings – a good point and a clean sheet to keep Chasetown clear of the league’s bottom six.
