As the second half commenced, Unitt made a determined push for a goal, only to see his shot bounce off the side of the post. He attempted to capitalize on the rebound but couldn’t find the net.
Hayward’s cross was thwarted by the Mossley defense, and a chaotic sequence ensued as Unitt fell to the ground, leading to a scramble that saw Fenton trying to connect with Hayward, who ultimately passed to Unitt, but the ball slipped away.
Butlin’s free kick got lost in the box, and despite their relentless efforts, the scholars couldn’t find that goal which was hard to grasp.
