The final day drama got underway in lively fashion as A. Taylor nearly fired into an early lead, only for his low strike to flash agonisingly wide of the post. The hosts didn't have to wait long, as Ellis showed composure to slot home inside the opening minutes and hand Avro the advantage.
Chasetown, however, found a fortunate way back into the contest. A misjudged header from Smalley looped past his own goalkeeper, Shenton, to gift the Scholars an equaliser.
After the frantic start, the tempo dipped, with both sides struggling to carve out clear-cut opportunities. Clement looked to inject some life into Chasetown’s attack, but Avro's defence stood firm to thwart his advances.
The second half saw both teams probing cautiously. Sargeant was called into action early, getting down smartly to keep Avro at bay.
Chasetown nearly nudged ahead when O’Callaghan's backward header skimmed just over the bar. Avro responded with a late surge, but Sargeant again stood tall, making a superb save before Griffiths hacked to clear under pressure.
With the draw securing fourth place in the table, Chasetown now turn their attention to the play-offs, where a trip to Congleton Town awaits on Tuesday night.
