Within the opening minutes home keeper Dan Haystead brilliantly tipped a Jono Gould shot onto the bar en route for a corner kick.
Nailers striker Kevin Hemagou forced Chase keeper John Bateman into a near post save from his volley and then Bateman dived to his left to deny the Belper number 10 for a second time.
After Chasetown squandered a free kick, Belper broke quickly and when it looked like Rob Stevenson had slotted beyond Bateman, Lee Butler raced back to clear the ball off the line.
The visitors started the second half brightly and a quick Richard Davies free kick sent Stan Mugisha clear but Haystead reacted quickly to save.
Then James Dance slipped it through to Butler but Haystead sprinted off his line to deny the midfielder at his feet.
