Back to back wins and 3 more goals for Stringer's Scholars

Back to back wins and 3 more goals for Stringer's Scholars

Paul Mullins24 Oct 2015 - 16:32

The Scholars hadn't won at home in the league all season but with three home FA Cup wins they were still in good form.

An early Stan Mugisha shot span off a defender and keeper Mike Emery scurried back frantically to palm the ball over the bar.

Chasetown took the lead in the 20th minute when Mugisha got to the byline and cut a pass back to Ryan Wynter who took a touch and drilled home.

With the hosts in the ascendancy, Jono Gould was put clear from midfield and got under his shot clearing the crossbar from close range.

After the break, Chasetown doubled the lead with a thunderbolt from long range from James Dance which flew past Emery from 25 yards.

Spalding stunned the home side on the hour with a goal back after a goalmouth scramble saw the ball strike the base of the post and somehow found its way into the net off Josh Moreman.

To seal the victory, substitute Nick Turton sprinted clear from midfield and rifled past Emery from just inside the penalty area to restore Chasetown's two goal advantage.

A late Simon Brown free kick was held by Emery as Chasetown ended the game, as they had started, well on top.
