

Steels’ striker Joe Lumsden saw a long range effort blocked by defender Jon Haynes and then Chase leading scorer Paul Sullivan headed narrowly over the bar from a Jed Davies corner.
The home side took the lead on the half hour. When Steels keeper David Reay saved from George Washbourne, Stocksbridge opened up Chasetown with a long ball and Lumsden drove the ball into the opposite corner beyond John Bateman.
Chasetown went close to an equaliser ten minutes after the break. Substitute Nick Turton teed up Sullivan who in turn fed Washbourne but Reay spread himself to block at his near post.
Harrison Biggins struck the crossbar with a free kick midway through the half with Bateman beaten.
Stocksbridge doubled their lead ten minutes from time when a through ball from midfield reached Scott Ruthven who got their before Bateman to prod the ball beyond the keeper which trickled into the net.
This defeat continued the Scholars run of never having scored at Stocksbridge's Bracken Moor Stadium at the fourth attempt.
