Chasetown opened the scoring through Wilding, following a well-worked team move. A superb cross-field pass from Evans found Hayward, whose delivery to the back post was headed across goal by Butlin, allowing Wilding to hammer the ball home.
The hosts doubled their lead when Ty skillfully beat the Bootle full-back and sent in a dangerous cross that deflected kindly into the path of Langston, who calmly buried the chance for his first goal of the season. Langston nearly added another soon after with a powerful volley from outside the area, but his effort flew narrowly wide.
In the second half, Chasetown continued their dominance. Langston grabbed his second of the game after latching onto Webster’s cross and finishing confidently to make it 3–0. Moments later, Webster turned goalscorer himself, driving a low effort into the near post for Chasetown’s fourth.
Substitute Clarke made an instant impact, heading home from a corner to make it 5–0. The scoring was rounded off in style by Langston, who completed his hat-trick with a composed finish, slotting the ball past the fingertips of the Bootle goalkeeper.
A commanding performance from start to finish ensured a dream debut for Hawkins, with Langston’s treble the standout highlight in a statement victory for Chasetown.
