

Chasetown collected three points at home against Sporting Khalsa, to start their New year off lucky.
The Scholars secured the lead very early on with newly signed Spinelli who boosted the ball over Gwilliams. Sporting Khalsa were later shown red after Newell was challenged on the halfway line, to tally them to ten men.
Another goal came in for Chasetown when a Yates corner went into the box, and Thompson poked the ball over the line to double the lead.
The second half saw a third goal for Chasetown from Butlin who slotted the ball past GWilliams from a direct free-kick.
After repeated efforts, the visitors took back Pond’s clean sheet and Sawyers pulled one back for Sporting Khalsa, but the minutes were running out for them.
The Scholars 2026 run started off well on home turf with a 3-1 win at Chasetown as they travel next Tuesday to Runcorn Linnets to try and secure another win on the road.
