Bootle created the first opportunity of the afternoon, but Pond was equal to it, producing a good save to keep the scores tied early on. However, Bootle soon found the breakthrough, a delivery into the box reached Beigan at the back post and he made no mistake with the finish to give the home side the lead to finish the last chance of the first half.
After the break, Chasetown looked to find a breakthrough response. Their first opportunity of the second half came when Langston met an Evans corner, but his effort sailed high over the crossbar.
Bootle later had the ball in the net again when Fenton turned home a long throw, but the referee ruled the goal out as no one had made contact with the ball, awarding a goal kick.
Evans also delivered a free kick into the area for Chasetown, though it ultimately came to nothing, and chances remained limited for either side as the game went on.
With losing 1-0 on the road, Chasetown now shift their focus to Wednesday night’s fixture against Shifnal Town.
