Chasetown suffered an FA Cup hangover with a huge defeat at Staffordshire rivals Kidsgrove.
Kidsgrove took the lead after 4 minutes. John Bateman denied Dan Turner’s first effort but the Grove number 9 followed up the rebound.
The hosts almost made it two with a long range effort which Bateman spectacularly pushed wide for a corner.
Grove extended their lead in the 17th minute. A spectacular run from Harry Clayton opened up the Scholars defence and he fired beyond Bateman from outside the penalty area.
The visitors responded and a Peter Till cross was glanced narrowly wide off the head of Ryan Wynter.
Jack Langston then warmed the gloves of keeper Krystian Burzynski with a volley from outside the box as Chasetown ended the half on top.
Turner added his second with a right foot drive across Bateman as Kidsgrove started the second half well.
Kidsgrove made it four passing their way through the Chasetown defence and left back Tom Morris slid the ball to the goalkeeper's left.
Centre back Ashley Hodgkinson made it 5.0 in the 75th minute as the one sided rout continued deep into the second half.
Chasetown’s chances were limited, the best falling to substitute Charles-Anthony Weston-Hayes who rattled the Grove crossbar.
