Chasetown rode some early pressure from the hosts but were denied from taking the lead by two top class saves.
In the 24th minute a long range effort from Captain Jack Langston was palmed wide for a corner by Danny Roberts.
Then Roberts made an even better to save at full strength to keep out a Will Whieldon volley.
Roberts completed a hat trick of smart saves from Danny Cocks at point blank range with Whieldon’s follow up cleared off the line by defender Scott Lycett.
The spell of pressure finally paid off with a long range Langston effort that deflected past the Leek keeper.
Chasetown doubled their lead five minutes into the second half. Cocks' shot was deflected into the path of Muzzy Nduna who volleyed in at the near post.
The Scholars were reduced to ten men when Callum Lovatt received a second yellow card for a foul inside the Chaetown defensive half.
Almost immediately Leek reduced the deficit through substitute Tim Grice.
Chasetown's Whieldon then conceded a free kick near the corner flag with Leek left back Jordan Lemon. It was a total surprise to see the referee to pull out a straight red card.
Some heroic defending from the 9 men kept Leek at bay as Chasetown held on to three points.
