Chasetown 1 Leek Town 1
Chasetown made a great start and almost scored inside the first 5 minutes with a long range effort from Jack Partridge superbly tipped over by Danny Roberts.
Leek had the ball in the net only to have celebrations cut short by the linesman’s flag.
Leek took the lead in the 21st minute. A free header from Robert Stevenson at the far post put the North Staffordshire side ahead.
Tom Hill almost levelled but for a low save to his left from Roberts.
Chasetown levelled just before half time. George Cater was tripped on the edge of the box and took the kick himself curling a peach of a free kick beyond Roberts.
Cater was just wide with a deflected free kick in first half stoppage time.
Leek had the lion's share of second half possession but Chasetown stood firm with the closest effort an attempt blocked brilliantly by loanee defender Dan Vann.
Vann then made another clearance off the line in the final minute as Boxing Day honours were even.
Skipper Ryan Wynter almost scored a dramatic winner with a late header just over the crossbar.
Wynter went even closer in stoppage time with a low shot blocked by Marc Grocutt.
