Chasetown 1 Cleethorpes Town 1
The visitors had the ball in the net after 4 minutes through Scott Vernon only to be ruled out by an assistant’s flag. Six minutes later though, the Owls took the lead when a Curtis Pond clearance was charged down by Vernon who took his time before slotting the ball home. Chasetown's appeals for handball were turned down by the assistant.
Cleethorpes had numerous chances to extend their lead, the closest being a Curtis Bateson free kick a whisker wide of the upright.
At the start of the second period, Cleethorpes hit the Chasetown post with a left footed effort from Lewis Collins.
Chasetown drew level against the run of play. Debutant Dan Westwood clipped the ball over the Lincolnshire side's back four and George Cater fired past Theo Richardson with a clinical finish.
Clee's Brody Robertson was wide with an overhead kick as the visitors tried to regain the lead.
Neither side were able to find a breakthrough to the stalemate.
