Chasetown scraped a 1-0 win against mid table Shepshed Dynamo under the lights.
Dynamo came close twice when Dempsey Arlott-John and Jack Rogers both hit the same piece of side netting within two minutes of each other.
Chasetown immediately went up the other end and almost went ahead when captain Danny O’Callaghan saw his shot diverted wide by an onrushing defender.
The Scholars thought they had taken the lead when just before the half hour mark Curtis Pond's goal kick was headed at goal which the opposition goalkeeper spilled causing the ball to trickle over the line only for the referee to adjudge there was a foul on Brandon Ganley in the Shepshed goal.
The game was played at a dull pace until just after the hour mark when O’Callaghan received a cross into the box that was headed just over the crossbar.
Just as Shepshed thought they had clung on to earn a point Joey Butlin advanced into the box only to be illegally brought down by a opposing player to earn a penalty. Up stepped Jack Langston to earn his 101st competitive goal for the club and send the 557 fans in attendance into cheers of joy.
