On a cold Wednesday night the Scholars made the short journey to local neighbours Lichfield City in the Staffordshire senior cup.

After a slow start Chasetown had a chance when a Harry Crook corner was floated in, only for Lewis Riley-Stewart to head into the palms of the opposition goalkeeper.

Lichfield took the lead when a Jack Edwards shot took a lucky deflection and landed in the back of Andy Jenkins goal.

Each team struck the woodwork in the first half, Lichfield courtesy of a direct free kick off the post, and Chasetown when Jack Langston struck a shot against the bar.

The first half ended on a bad note when Joey Butlin was alleged to have elbowed an opponent and was subsequently sent off.

Lichfield started the second half in style and doubled their lead when Jenkins came out to kick the ball clear, only to gift the ball to Jack Edwards who doubled his tally for the night.

Lichfield wrapped up the victory when a cross sailed through to Max Black who knocked the ball home.
