The Scholars made a good start when they took a 3rd minute lead via a Kev Hemagou header from a well struck cross.
Wednesfield equalised when number 9 slipped a shot past Callum Cook between the sticks.
The Chase kept knocking on the door when Korey Burke struck wide and Danny O’Callaghan’s shot across goal took a slight deflection wide.
The home side also had their chances to take the lead notably when number 9 struck a shot that had to be tipped wide by Cook.
The second half started with a Wednesfield cross that was tipped over by Cook.
Chasetown went straight up the other end and almost took the lead when Burke received a cross which he side footed wide of the post.
On the hour mark another chance was missed when Mitch Botfield hit a free kick over the bar.
Rafferty Winnall almost scored with his first touch in a Chasetown shirt when he got one on one with the opposition goalkeeper only for his shot to drop wide of the post.
Hemagou almost doubled his tally for the day when he had a shot which was tipped wide by Wednesfield’s goalkeeper.
