Report by Ryan Robinson.
Chasetown dominated the play and took a deserved lead on the 25th minute when Max Chimenes got a touch on a Kris Taylor cross that crept over the line.
Against the run of play the Pitmen were level ten minutes later when a cross brushed the arm of Jordan Evans. The resulting penalty was easily dispatched by Joe Berks.
Just before half-time Eden Bailey gave the visitors the lead when he swept home a cross from the right hand side.
The Scholars made a quick response after half time when Danny Glover fired across a shot that Jack Langston lashed into the net past Rhys Williams.
Then came the moment that fired Mark Swann’s Chase into the final…
A misplaced play out by Williams found Langston who used all nine years of his experience with The Scholars to expertly place an effort over the top of the keeper's head and into the goal.
Chasetown now have a final against Rushall Olympic or Lichfield City to look forward to on the 7th of May. But they will first look to make a strong finish in the league starting with a visit to Stalybridge Celtic this weekend.
