The Scholars started brightly and perhaps should have scored early on when Ryan Wynter fired wide from close range.
Deservedly though Chasetown took the lead midway through the half when Wynter fired past Crane after a Jack Langston pass.
Mitch Piggon missed a close range effort due to a late bobble in the sandy goalmouth but any fears that the Scholars would regret that miss were dispersed.
Just before the interval slick passing opened up the Hednesford backline and Joe Thomas drilled low past a stranded Crane.
Next goal was crucial though if Hednesford were to stage a comeback. But the next goal was Chasetown's as Langston netted goal 23 with a free kick that deflected.
With the away support in fine voice Chasetown put the icing and cherry on the cake with a fourth goal from the returning James Dance. What a night!
